The Recon uses horizontal bars that flap and paddle over the surface instead of rolling like a typical tread. The bars are grouped into diamond patterns and staggered, so once the tire is assembled they form repeating large X-shaped openings across the tread. The sidewall features run in one direction, which gives you a choice in how the tire is presented to the track. Radial ribs inside the carcass resist expansion, and the continuous contour keeps the tire smooth and consistent. The pin construction and proprietary green compound do the work on the racing surface, with pins that flex, snap, and twist. Each tire comes with JConcepts Dirt-Tech inserts, known for their gray color, durability, and track success. Dakotah Phend, 2022 ROAR National Champion in the 1/8th truck class, has been extremely impressed with the Recon.
