Tamiya Avro Lancaster B Mk.III Sp.B Mk.I Sp, 1/48 Plastic Model Kit

About this part

The Avro Lancaster was one of the RAF's main heavy bombers during World War II. The two best-known variants were the Mk.III 'Dambuster' and the Mk.I 'Grand Slam Bomber'. The Dambuster was modified to attack dams in Germany. It carried special bouncing bombs that skipped across the water to the dam wall and exploded below the surface to damage the structure. The Grand Slam Bomber was built to carry the 10-ton Grand Slam earthquake bomb, and its bomb bay doors and dorsal machine guns were removed to save weight. These Lancasters used the Grand Slam against targets such as U-boat bases and rocket factories. This 1/48 scale kit captures the detail of this historic aircraft.
