The 1/12 scale Yamaha RZV500R is a re-issue of a kit last released in 2011. It includes a newly added B5-size double-sided pamphlet with color photos of the full-size bike for painting reference, along with an updated instruction manual. The RZV500R was announced at the 1983 Tokyo Motor Show with specifications close to those of the YZR500 road racer. It shared that bike's light weight and compact design. Its 500cc two-stroke water-cooled V4 produced 64hp and gave a top speed of 230km/h, performance on the level of a liter-class motorcycle. The bike opened a new era of two-stroke sports machines, drawing on Yamaha's deep knowledge of two-stroke engines and racing.
