This is a re-release of the M60A3 tank. Alongside the M1 Abrams, the M60A3 formed the core of U.S. tank forces in the 1980s. It used a cast iron chassis inherited from the M48, and was powered by a supercharged, air-cooled diesel. Its turret was also cast iron and carried a 105mm gun with a thermal sleeve to guard against barrel distortion. Newer features of the time included a laser rangefinder and a ballistic computer. Production began in 1978, and the 3,600 tanks built served as a leading military vehicle for more than 20 years. This is a limited edition re-release. Listed as a universal fit item for general hobby use.
