America's first tank destroyer, the M10 sat on a Sherman hull and carried a 3-inch (76.2mm) cannon in an open-topped turret, able to penetrate 8.8cm of armor at 1,000m. Its armor was relatively thin to keep it mobile, but auxiliary armor could be bolted to the turret and hull. It first fought the Germans in Tunisia in 1943, then served in Italy, Western Europe and the Pacific. The kit captures the angled hull armor and wedge-shaped turret. The open turret shows the cannon's loading device and the combat compartment.
