A cost-effective combo set in one special package, pairing Item 61090, the 1/48 Republic P-47D Thunderbolt Bubbletop, with Item 89755, the 1/48 US 1/4-ton 4x4 Light Vehicle. It includes a new instruction manual and one standing officer figure from Item 61089. In May 1941 a single-engine fighter of more than four tons made its first flight. That was the XP-47B, prototype of the P-47 Thunderbolt, of which 15,683 were built. The Bubbletop, with its bubble canopy, became a powerful, well-balanced fighter-bomber. The 1/4-ton light vehicle had a light, strong chassis and a reliable engine, and over 600,000 were built during WWII.
