Tamiya's 1/24 scale kit of the Toyota Soarer 2000VR-Turbo, a limited edition re-release of Item 24019. The original 1981 kit was motorized. This edition is not, and it has updated decals and an updated instruction manual. The Soarer debuted in February 1981 as Toyota's first personal luxury car. This two-door hardtop coupe had a long nose, a short deck, a high-quality inline-six engine and a range of the latest in-car technology. The VR-Turbo grade, added in June 1981, shared the same streamlined shape and used a turbocharged inline-six rated at 145hp. It is often regarded as one of the leading luxury cars of the 1980s.
