This assembly kit brings the German main battle tank Leopard 2A7V to Tamiya's 1/48 scale Military Miniature Series. It uses one-third the parts of the 1/35 scale version, which keeps assembly simple while staying accurate. The Leopard 2A7V was decided on in May 2017 as an upgrade for the Bundeswehr. It adds front hull armor for survivability and new running gear for the extra weight. Its L/55 120mm gun, carried over from the A6, can engage armor up to five kilometers away with the latest ammunition. Other changes include a sight for poor visibility, new tracks and a new turret rear basket. Units began receiving upgraded tanks in September 2021.
