The Dirt Web 2 is a JConcepts 83mm 1/8th buggy tire in blue compound. The original Dirt Web bar tread was introduced in 2013 for indoor off-road racing, and it has stayed a favorite. It was co-designed by Jason Ruona and Brian Kinwald. Bar tire racing has recently grown in 1/8th off-road, especially in Europe, where surfaces are smooth, rubber-based, or glue-treated, which allows very fast, consistent racing. For 2024, the JConcepts team returned to the lab and developed the Dirt Web 2. The bar design is similar to 2013, with thicker sections, repeated sections, and connecting bars. Bar tire spacing is key, so the DW2 has an open center section for forward bite and room for the tread to open under acceleration. The outer sections have a dense arrangement of Dirt Web connections for contact patch during high-speed cornering. Small pins at a lower height sit between the pattern and add contact as the tire wears.
