A blue compound rear tire from the JConcepts Sprinter line, sized at 2.2. The Sprinter sits between the popular Double Dees and the other pin tires from JConcepts. Square, angled pins are stacked vertically to flex and fold evenly across the tread. A stacked tread typically wears less and offers more forward bite, while the aligned spacing aids rotation in the turns and releases quickly. The tread was developed for durability and performance on loose surfaces that are wet or dusty. Dirt-oval racing and cars with mid-motor or laydown transmissions called for a new pin style and a new carcass and outer tread design. The angled pins on the outer sidewall help the tire rotate, which matters in dirt off-road and dirt-oval racing. The blended tread is supported by a generous radius that promotes pin snap and resists tearing or separation. Horizontal traction bars connect several pins near the center, which helps the tire hold a critical area for push at high speed.
