This front skid plate is designed for the Traxxas Maxx, where the stock plate falls short. On the stock plate, hard impacts and grinding can damage the mounting screws, and damaged screws can lead to damaged bulkheads. RPM changed the skid rib layout so the mounting screws are isolated from direct contact. The skid ribs take the hits and wear instead, which keeps the screws and bulkheads intact. The RPM plate has three skid ribs, compared with two on the stock design. The extra rib adds abrasion resistance and strength for hard use. Pair it with the RPM Rear Skid Plate (#72222) for full underbody protection on the Maxx. Fits general hobby universal fit car parts.
