About this part

An ultra low range 20.5:1 internal gear set from Hot Racing for the Ascent 18. The set is CNC machined from #45 steel and brass, with hardened gears for better wear resistance and fatigue life. It replaces the stock plastic gears.

You will receive

  • One (1) steel drive gear, 38T/16T
  • One (1) steel idler gear, 39T/16T
  • One (1) steel output drive gear, 39T
  • One (1) brass pinion gear, 11T

Requirements

  • Replaces the stock transmission and hardware
  • Apply a light amount of grease to the gears during installation
  • A gear remover is recommended for installing the pinion gear, SDR1380

Comments

  • Replaces RER29168 and RER29171. TRXM180N9 can also be used. Stock gear ratio is 13:1.
  • The stock plastic set consists of a 37T/18T drive gear, a 37T/18T idler gear, a 37T output drive gear (RER29171), and a 12T plastic pinion gear, with RER29168 as the stock gear set.
