The Kyosho Optima 4WD buggy kit carries on a design that set the standard for R/C development when the first Optima debuted in 1985. Its narrow backbone chassis gives the geometry for large steering angles, and double wishbone suspension provides 35mm of suspension stroke. The 4WD chain system runs inside a sealed compartment, and the center gears and gearbox use robust metal counter gear pinion and rear diff case. A slipper clutch and precision 48-pitch gear modules cut drive loss. Modern updates include a choice of chain or belt drive and big bore shocks front and rear. Thirty years on, its styling and performance still influence modern racing machines. It fits the Kyosho Optima Vintage platform.
