Ghost is a friction and noise reducing gear grease from JConcepts, developed with RM2. Unlike most RM2 gear lubes, which are aimed at metal gears, Ghost is made for plastic-to-plastic gear contact. It suits 2WD buggy transmissions that use inline gears, and lighter 4WD buggies that have moved to plastic gear materials for less weight. Ryan Maifield races with a focus on a smooth, quiet, free-running gearbox. Ghost is the blend he settled on after a long search for what belongs in his race cars. When servicing or building fresh, apply a generous amount to each plastic gear, or to each set of meshing plastic gears. Once the vehicle is fully assembled, roll the driveline over by hand so the grease settles and spreads evenly. Check the vehicle after the first shakedown runs, and keep the amount and consistency of grease the same as it was from the start.
