The Stealth transmission was Team Associated's compact, fully enclosed three-gear design, developed by Cliff Lett for the RC10 Team Car. Released in 1990, it used less friction than the original six-gear transmission and was more durable. It made its debut at the 1990 ROAR Off-Road Nationals at Hobby Haven Raceway in Des Moines, Iowa, where Team Associated drivers dominated the field. Its focus on power transfer, reduced rotating mass and simpler maintenance made it a standard for competitive off-road RC and shaped transmission designs that followed.
