The Interlocking Tower is a new Built- & -Ready Landmark Structure for layouts where trains approach intersecting rail lines and junctions. Towers like this one house an interlocking machine that controls train movements through signals, switches and track circuits. The same system keeps operations safe at stations and junctions. The machine's model board sits in the center of the upstairs cabin and can be seen from all sides through the windows. The operator's desk, a wood stove, lanterns, pin-up posters and a calendar are visible too. The two-story tower has a weathered shingled roof, a sign reading "WS No. 7" and an upper deck with a staircase to the ground. Tires, a spool of wire, a water hose, a diesel tank and barrels show daily activity, along with a toolbox and a pair of boots on the deck outside the upstairs door. The building has three lights: two over the exterior doors and one interior light upstairs. Suited to general hobby N Scale trains.
