This Construction Series amphibious kit shows a penguin in motion. On land, the penguin moves forward as its wheels turn with its legs. In water, it swims by moving its flippers. A link mechanism converts the rotation of the submarine motor into the motion of the legs and flippers. On land, the penguin rests on three wheels: one on each leg and a front center wheel on its lower abdomen. It moves forward by swinging its body. In water, a float on its neck keeps its head above the surface. Changing the direction of the wheels and flippers allows turning on land and in water. Plastic parts can be painted. Includes one submarine motor. One AAA battery is needed, sold separately.
