This R/C kit recreates the Volkswagen Golf II GTI 16V. It uses a beginner friendly, highly customizable chassis. Like the full-size car, the kit's chassis is set up in the front motor, front drive configuration for realism. The front-drive Golf is one of Volkswagen's most iconic cars. The first Golf appeared in 1974 and went on to lead the worldwide compact car class. The Golf II debuted in 1983, and the Golf II GTI 16V joined the lineup in 1986. It had a 1,781cc inline-4 DOHC 16-valve engine. A tuned version took part in global rally races, and in the United States it became a fan favorite hatchback of the 1980s. THE MB-01 CHASSIS: The compact 2WD MB-01 chassis offers three wheelbase options and either front- or rear-wheel drive. The battery pack, motor and R/C equipment stay in the center frame. To switch drive direction, change the attachment direction of the final gears and steering linkage. Fits general hobby universal fit items.
