Steel-axle gear differential set for the Atom 2, designed by our engineering and race team as an alternative to the ball differential. The gear design gives more consistent, easier setting, needs less frequent maintenance, and changes very little from race to race. Cornering entry is more stable, and mid-corner and exit rotation are improved. All bearings are ball raced for precision and lower upkeep. The steel axle adds strength and reliability. A 60T 48dp spur is included. Oil viscosity can be adjusted for more tuning range than the ball differential: 700cSt to 2000cSt for low grip 2000cSt to 5000cSt for medium grip 5000cSt to 15000cSt for high grip The ball differential from the removed kit can still be used on low grip tracks. In other conditions the gear differential should offer more potential. The ball differential is easiest to drive and suits low grip tracks. The gear differential is moderate to drive, works well in most conditions, and can be tuned with the correct oil. An optional carbon axle, U8353, is available for extra performance and is 8g lighter.
