A laydown transmission shim set for the B6, with 1mm and 2mm shims in blue. Off-road vehicles are not built for low ride height, but many racers lower theirs for carpet. When they do, the drive-shaft angle on the inside of the vehicle drops, which hurts drive-line geometry and efficiency. These shims raise the whole transmission to restore a better angle. Both sizes are included, so the racer can choose the amount. The shims are machined aluminum, which holds a flatter footprint than 3D printed or injection molded parts and resists bending under load or screw force. They sit between suspension components, where a flat base matters more as more racers assemble with automatic tools. Team drivers suggest the adjustment for carpet, turf, or very high-grip dirt.
