Bachmann's limited edition HO scale set honors the American Freedom Train. Entrepreneur Ross Rowland Jr. was inspired by the 1947 Freedom Train that toured after World War II. The bicentennial tour that followed visited all 48 contiguous states from 1975 to 1976 as a traveling display of American artifacts, making 140 community stops, with Southern Pacific GS-4 locomotive #4449 leading much of the way. As America approaches its semiquincentennial and the tour's 50th anniversary, this set brings that spirit to HO scale with authentically detailed add-on cars.
