Reedy's Sonic SP5 25.5 A-Spec stock motor. Minor stator changes add torque for racers who run 25.5 motors in competition. The SP5 starts with its stator. Designed in-house, it delivers high torque and power without giving up RPM. The copper magnet wire is sized to the largest gauge the rules allow and wound to keep resistance close to the legal minimum. Heat transfer epoxy draws heat away from the windings to reduce fade over a race. An oversized collector ring and thick solder tabs lower resistance and power loss. The balanced rotor uses a high-strength magnet sized to get the most from the dimensional rules, for fade-free power. Precision stainless steel ball bearings handle high-RPM loads with good efficiency and reliability. As with all Reedy Sonic motors, a high-quality sensor board sits inside the can.
