This 1/8 scale trike is Tom Daniel's King Chopper II. At over 15 inches long and nearly 13 inches tall, it is a large kit. Daniel built the original around a cut-down Harley-Davidson 74, chosen for its displacement, horsepower, and torque. The low-slung frame holds the engine. Two small-diameter, wide Indy ovals on the rear are driven by chain, and the front spoked wheel has full-width racing drums at an extreme rake. The pleated high-back saddle seat is topped by a sissy bar that serves as a perch for Tom's pet California Condor. The kit is molded in metallic purple and includes two sprues of chrome parts, a clear sprue, red and clear tubing, and large rubber tires front and back. The build shown used glosscoat and black and white paint, with tan and a mix for the condor's neck. Each instruction step should be checked off in order.
