About this part
This 1/24 scale plastic model is a Tom McEwen '57 Chevy Funny Car. In 1988, drag racer Tom 'Mongoose' McEwen introduced a funny car that put the classic 1957 Chevy body on a modern funny car chassis. Its runs of 1.4 miles took less than 6 seconds, which made it a strong claim to the fastest '57 Chevy in the world. McEwen's career spanned more than 45 years. He was best known for his match races against Don 'The Snake' Prudhomme, which helped launch the nationally known sponsorship era of professional drag racing.
